Raise Your Voice
It's pretty easy to take your voice for granted. We live in an age where it seems everyone has a voice - where anyone on the internet is free to give their opinion about pretty much anything. But that's not always true. At times it can appear that there aren't people talking out about issues that matter. The ability to speak up is essential to keep sufficient scrutiny on those in power.
(Although if you're a contestant on X-factor it's probably worth learning to keep quiet a bit more often)

RAISE YOUR VOICE
When I was little I had a big voice
It was great, he went everywhere with me
We had loads of fun together.
But as I got bigger, my voice got smaller
I was told to keep quiet, to stop making a fuss
And then when I wanted my voice, when I really needed him,
he wasn’t there
Some people never have a voice
Other people have theirs taken away from them
How can you speak for them if you don’t have one yourself?
How can you help them get their own voice?
You have to look after your voice, nurture it, care for it,
raise it well
So that when you need it, or other people need it, it is
there for you
If you don’t raise it, you might not notice when it is gone.
